Description
The Indian Health Service (IHS) intends to issue a contract to continue support for the Domestic Violence Prevention Program. The purpose of the contract is to obtain Domestic Violence technical assistance, including training and material for health care providers supporting IHS locations throughout the country. The program is currently and has been supported for the last 3 years, by The Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF), a non profit, national advocacy organization which sets the standard for domestic violence and sexual assault screening and patient intervention within the United States. FVPF is the recognized national leader in implementing innovative and successful techniques in the response to and prevention of Domestic Violence. The contractor selected for performance on this contract must have expertise and experience in providing Domestic Violence technical assistance to American Indian and Alaskan Native tribes and be aware of culture, tribes, tribal practices and social expectations and also have experience in providing this service to remote locations throughout the United States. The contractor should also be recognized as a national expert by National Domestic Violence organizations such as the HHS Agency for Children and Families (ACF) to provide technical assistance and materials to health care organizations and community organizations on domestic violence. All assistance provided must conform to standards of care recognized as necessary for safe domestic and sexual violence screening and patient intervention. The period of performance is anticipated to be from September 29, 2007 to September 28, 2008
