National Institutes of Health, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD., Office of Acquisitions, 6701 Rockledge Dr RKL2/6100 MSC 7902, Bethesda, MD, 20892-7902, United States This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation to procure commercial items is prepared in accordance with the format of 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issue. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR Part 13, simplified acquisition procedures and the resultant purchase order will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular 05-18. The total contracted dollar amount, including options, if any will not exceed $5 million. This procurement is being issued as a request for quotation. Submit offers on NHLBI-PB(AR)2007-185-RCO. This is a Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516 and the small business size is 500 employees. SCHEDULE: All additional information in this announcement is vital to the outcome of the requirement and its functionality. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute on behalf of the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) have a requirement for a Genome Analyzer and Cluster Station to perform deep sequence analysis of genomic DNA. The analyzer will detect relevant single nucleotide polymorphisms derived from NIH patients and normal individuals as identified clinically . Government Specifications: a). the system (s) must immobilize DNA clusters b). the system must promote fluorescent nucleotides chemically blocked at their 3OH. C). the systems (s) must promote rapid progress in the analysis of biomedically relevant sequence by synthesis. D). the system (s) must be able to analysis digital expression which allows from investigative genome-wide expression profiling of patient and control individual, DNA sequencing of genomic DNA immunoprecipitated using specific antibodies and identification of known and novel microRNAs. A market research conducted by the Government has determined that at least (1) small business can supply a Genetic analyzer and Cluster Station; which confirm the commercial market. The contractor must deliver no later than October 31, 2007, in Bethesda, MD.
