Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to make a single award to a responsible entity for the provision of dental hygiene services for federal inmates at the Yankton Federal Prison Camp located in Yankton, South Dakota. Faith-Based and community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/bids equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. The contractor shall perform all services at the Federal Prison Camp, Lay Medical Building, Health Services Department, 1016 Douglas Avenue, Yankton, South Dakota. The contractor will provide an estimated 6 session per day, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays, between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. A session is defined as one (1) hour. The contractor will be entitled to a 30 minute non-paid lunch per day. The services may be provided on an as-needed basis with the contractor subject to call for services. All sessions, which will include full and partial days, will be mutually agreed upon by both parties. Under no circumstances will the contractor work more than 30 hours in any one week. This schedule is subject to some variation as the needs of institution vary. A schedule that is mutually acceptable to the Government and the contractor can be determined after the award of the contract. Contract award is anticipated to be October 1, 2007 (pending availability of funds), through September 30, 2008. Should funds not be immediately available, contract award for the fiscal year will be postponed until such time as funds become available. The contractor shall provide dental hygiene care on a non-discriminatory basis to include, but not be limited to evaluation and diagnosis of periodontal disease, exposing radiographs, scaling, polishing, preventive education, and comprehensive health and dental history of inmate patients. The contractor will also perform any dental services required by the Chief Dental Officer which may include administrative and clerical tasks. The contractor shall meet the following qualifications: Be a graduate of an American Dental Association approved school of dental hygiene; Be a registered Dental Hygienist, or pending registration; and Be licensed, or pending licensure, to practice dental hygiene in any of the states or territories of the United State of America. For individuals submitting quotes, documentation of the above qualifications shall be submitted with the offeror?s quote. Failure to do so may cause your quote to be rejected. Proof of meeting the qualifications for a contractor?s employee shall be submitted to FPC Yankton upon contract award and prior to performing any Contract Security/Investigative Requirements.
