Description
AMCOM is interested in seeking information on disposition and reuse alternatives for Ammonium Perchlorate (AP) recovered from tactical rocket motors. The current missile demilitarization program seeks to increase environmentally acceptable alternati ves to conventional Open Burn/Open Detonation (OB/OD) through closed disposal and component/compound reuse techniques. As a result large quantities of AP will require final disposition or reuse over the next 20 years. The government is seeking industry r esponses that use processes, equipment and facilities that do not require research and development and/or facilitization. This notice constitutes a request for information (RFI) from sources with expertise and knowledge of disposal and alternative uses fo r AP. It is intended that this RFI be open 14 days from the date of publication. Information may be submitted by any non-governmental entity including commercial firms, institutions of higher education with degree-granting programs in science and/or en gineering (universities), or by consortia led by such concerns. This RFI is used for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly . Responses to the RFI will not be returned.
