- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to issue an Invitation for Bidding (IFB) to award a contract for construction of a general facility upgrade including but not limited to removal of VCT with replacement, addition of a sprink ler system, general rehab of dental area including ceilings, HVAC, vacuum piping and replacement of two dental laboratories and a sterling area, general rehab of the 4th floor including ceilings and HVAC plus several room changes throughout the building. Also, the cooling tower in the roof is being replaced and a stairwell next to the bookstore is being repaired. There are four AHU units being installed on the roof, a new emergency generator a gas line south to the building, the building air compresses ar e being replaced, and minor repairs in the basement. In addition, asbestos, lead base paint and other toxic waste will be removed under this contract. This contract will be phased with a minimum of sixteen separate date and duration sensitive work phases . The building will remain occupied and operational during all phases of work. The contractor will be required to provide alternative office space including utilities. The contractor will be required to move out and move back in the effected offices IAW the work phasing plan. Clients include: office of the Judge Advocate, Alcohol and Drug Prevention Control Office and Dental Clinic Offices. The dates for completing construction tasks will have little tolerance for variation. Location is Building 606, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. The duration of this project is approximately 730 calendar days including Optional Items. This procurement is being solicited as 8(a) Competitive. The applicable NAICS CODE IS 236220 with a Small Bu siness Size of $31.0 Million Dollars. The SIC CODE is 1542. The estimated cost range for this project is between $8 Million to $10 Million Dollars.
