PROJECT TITLE: JEAN LAFITTE - JELA100183 Replace Barataria Telephone Equipment PROJECT NUMBER: JELA - 7530-07-0013 LOCATION : Barataria Preserve, Marrero LA RFQ Number 7530-07-0013 7/19/2007 Question and Response to Contractor The following notations which clarify and/or alter the project requirements have been determined to be new requirements or clarification of specification as a result of the "Pre-Proposal meeting held on this date. Specification of Requirements - The specification calls for a MICS equipment type, though review of the overall project requirement indicates that a CICS 8 x 24 equipment type will meet and provide suitable future system growth for this site. Therefore, a CICS equipment type is acceptable alternative to the specification. Specification of Requirements New Cabling termination points. 1. Terminate new cabling at Visitor Center offices and Admin (LE) offices using 'patch panels'. 2. Terminate new cabling at Maintenance Bld. Using 110 block. Specification of Requirements - Equipment Schedule - Telephone desk sets - " The park wants all desk units to be model 7316. " A 'reception' module is not required. Specification of Requirements - Equipment Schedule - new items and programming " Provide one (1) additional anolog extension module to CICS equipment in addition to the one which comes with the equipment. " Provide in building cable/s to be installed, jack locations as directed, for two (2) additional fax machines to be programmed through the Nortel system. One to be located in Visitor Center. One to be located in the Maintenance building. Allow 100 ft additional jack wiring for maintenance fax location. NOTE: the currently direct wired fax machine (wired on specific trunk line) at Admin (LE) will remain direct wired outside of the Nortel equipment. The following questions were received on 7-23-07 from a vendor reviewing the project requirements, which he felt required clarification. Questions and Answers - The telephone equipment schedule does not call for 'Caller ID trunk packs' . Is this a desired feature of the phone system. Answer is no. Caller ID is not required. LSDS trunk cards will function without caller ID. The telephone back up battery supply is specified to provide 1 hour of back up coverage, is this what you want, this is a very large unit. Clarification - due to wattage of system requirements, an APC 1500-1600 volt amp power supply and surge protection will be sufficient in lieu of the 1 hour specification requirement. Does this telephone equipment require a voice mail module? Yes, the system should be equipped with voice mail system capable of capacity for the total number of telephone extensions in the system, including a 'general message' mailbox and system messaging to incoming callers, such as for site information, employee directory etc. For example, Call Pilot 100 should meet system requirements. Programming and set up of the voice mail system is also inclusive of the work requirements. End of Questions. Brian Strack
