- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Newport, RI intends to place a sole source fixed price order with National Instruments Corp., Austin, Texas for the anticipated repair of P/N 78296-01, VXIpc-872B/1.26GHz central processing unit. The basis for the sole source is that National Instruments is the sole manufacturer of this component and therefore, the only source for repair and/or service. Proposed award shall be for a one year time period with three additional one year options, the estimated number of repairs per year is six. The unrestricted solicitation will be posted no earlier than 6 August 2007. The Government intends to solicit and award with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
