- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, it is the Government's intent to award a sole source purchase to Thermo Electron Corporation, 5225 Verona Road, Madison, WI for the purchase of annual maintenance and repair service for a spectrometer, microscope a nd Raman accessories. Thermo Electron Corporation is the original manufacturer this equipment and is the only source that can meet the government's requirements because they hold the proprietary rights to the equipment and the software. This company has a ccess to all repair parts and all other resources needed to make the system fully operational. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone re quests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affir mative written response is received, the purchase will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract price based on this notice is solely wihtin the discretion of the Government.
