Description

The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a purchase order on a sole source non-competitive basis to Eastman Kodak Company 343 State St. 2/10/KO, Rochester, NY. 14650-0558. Item 1 Kodak X-OMAT 5000 RA Processor Cat no 1033083. The Kodak X-OMAT 5000 RA processor has been established as meeting the stringent technical specifications necessary for testing mammography film and chemicals in order to support MQSA inspections. It features a microprocessor control which provides the versatility to set up any processing environment (cycles, temperatures, replenishment rates, etc.) to be tested. In order to optimize testing, all components of a processing system need to be from the same manufacturing chain. Because of the technical specification required, the film (Kodak MR 2000), chemistry (Kodak developer, fixer, and starter) and processor must be from the same manufacturer. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
