- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Procurement and Grants Office intends to award a sole source award to Cepheid Inc.,Sunnyvale, CA for a SmartCycler upgrade kit. The Bacterial Zoonoses Branch supports state and public health laboratories that use disease detection assays based on the Cepheid SmartCycler system. Cepheid Inc. is the only source that can provide the equipment and software. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR part 6.302-1. Supplies required are available from only one responsible source and no other types of supplies will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. However, responsible sources ,who believe that they can provide the required equipment or equal, need to submit a written notification of interest and capability to the Contracting Specialist within 5 days from the publication date of this notice.
