Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for the Poker Bar Stewardship Project, encompassing hazardous fuels management services 5.5 air-miles southeast of the town of Weaverville, in Trinity County, California, to accomplish the following: To provide services for fuels reduction and forest health. The objectives are to removal of understory canopy vegetation to reduce continuity of fuels that pose a serious threat to the health of the ecosystem and pose a threat to the community of Poker Bar. It is estimated that 10,000 board feet of saw logs and 65 cords mixed species firewood per acre is available to remove. All merchantable material to be removed will be purchased from the Government and paid for by the Contractor through either application of Conservation Credits earned or cash deposit. The Contractor shall develop and submit a Treatment Plan and Schedule to accomplish the project objectives, and organize and direct all of the equipment and personnel needed to fully accomplish the work. The contractor shall furnish all technical expertise, labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to complete the work required. The Treatment Plan and Schedule will be agreed upon by both parties and incorporated into the contract. The period of performance will begin on or about September10, 2007 and continue for no more than 18 months. This is a 100% set-aside for small business. The standard NAICS classification is 115310. This solicitation will be issued on or about August 6, 2007. The solicitation may be downloaded from the IDEAS-EC website: http://ideasec.nbc.gov/j2ee/login.jsp. Please print the Standard form (SF-1449) and print all clauses and attachments (located in blue box). No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided. A site visit has been scheduled for August 15, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. Participants will meet at the Corner of Highway 299 and Old Poker Bar Rd (on north side of Hwy 299) Trinity County, California. Potential offerors are to provide their own transportation at no cost to the Government. The Government assumes no liability on behalf of offerors attending the site visit. Offerors intending to attend the site visit tour shall contact Kristi Ralston at (530) 224-2154 or Tim Bradley at (530) 224-2124 at least 48 hours before the scheduled site visit and advise then the firms' name and number of persons that will attend. Contractors must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov to be considered eligible for award. Proposals are due no later than September 5, 2007 at 4:30 P.M. pacific standard time.
