A solicitation for the following requirement will be availabe at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about 8/15/07. REQUIREMENT: The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking a fixed-price construction contract to furnish all material, equipment, and labor necessary to construct a "Temporary Stone Wall Support System" with a service life of less than or equal to 36 months. This new retaining wall and associated gutter and down spouts, drainage, and fence work is to be constructed on Bridge Street at the Steamtown National Historic Site, 150 S. Washington Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503. The NAICS code for this requirement is 237990. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000. The period of performance after issuance of award is ninety (90) calendar days. STATEMENT OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS: The work of this project consists of: 1. Design and construction of a temporary stone wall support system, as indicated, with a service life of less than or equal to 36 months. 2. Design and construction of a temporary shoring/sheeting, as indicated, with a service life of less than or equal to 36 months. 3. Construction of the masonry stone veneer, as indicated on the contract drawings. 4. Installation of galvanized steel gutters and downspouts along the entire northwest roof edge of the Silk Mills Building. Qualifications - The work must be supervised by a superintendent or foreman who is experienced, in the construction of temporary stone wall support system proposed. Contractors and sub-contractors must show proof of certification for each equipment operator, for the use of all heavy equipment and lifting equipment and the inspections of all equipment that they are safe to operate and meet all OSHA, state, local, and federal codes and regulations for safe operation before any work begins. It shall be incumbent upon the Contractor to furnish labor who can execute first-class workmanship in the materials and methods specified, and who will take any necessary precautions to protect site, structures, and objects of this historic landscape not scheduled to receive work. COMPETITION - This procurement is open to small and large businesses and is subject to Public Law 100-656. This proposed solicitation is subject to the provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 14, Sealed Bids. A site visit will be scheduled for interested parties with the time and date to be announced with the solicitation. Responses to the solicitation shall be due approximately 30 days after issuance of the solicitation. Search by referencing solicitation I4810070006, Department of the Interior, National Park Service.
