- NASA/KSC, intends to award a sole source acquisition to National Instruments, Austin, TX 78759, for the following software license support and maintenance renewals: SSP Maintenance Renewal LV FDS for WIN & MAC SP Maintenance Renewal PDS for WIN SSP Maintenance Renewal Vision Development Module SSP Maintenance Renewal Development Suite Volume License Manager NI Developer Suite Upgrade, Sound & Vibration Toolkit NASA/KSC intends to purchase LabView/CVI software from National Instruments as it is the graphical development environment for creating flexible and scalable test, measurement, and control applications rapidly and at minimal cost. With LabVIEW, engineers and scientists interface with real-world signals, analyze data for meaningful information, and share results and applications. Regardless of experience, LabView makes development fast and easy for all users. LabView delivers a powerful graphical development environment for signal acquisition, measurement analysis, and data presentation, and provides the flexibility of a programming language without the complexity of traditional development tools. No other known commercial code has these capabilities. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 18, 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
