The Army has placed an increased priority on its entire night vision capability in order to be able to operate as well at night as in the day. In order to satisfy this priority, it is critical that the night vision systems necessary to achieve this ca pability be procured. System Description: The AN/AVS-6(V)1A and AN/AVS-6(V)3 are Enhanced Gen III I2 Night Vision Systems designed for use in military aircraft by pilots/crew during night operations to include low altitude Nap-of-the-Earth (NOE) flight. The AN/AVS-6(V)3 incorporates a low profile battery pack and finer adjustment objective lens assemblies along with two enhanced Gen III MX-10160C/UV configured image intensifier. The minimum performance req uirements for these devices and components are expected to be the performance requirements of the OMNIBUS VI contract DAAB07-02-C-J008. It is anticipated that a draft RFP will be issued on or about August 29, 2007, Final RFP on or about September 14, 2007 , with proposals due on or about October 15, 2007, and award approximately December 20. The anticipated acquisition strategy for the award is as follows: (1) full and open competition; (2) one firm-fixed price awards made on a best-value basis; (3) Contr act will be five year Indefinite Dollar/Indefinite Quantity (ID / IQ) contract. The minimum quantity is anticipated to be approximately 400 AN/AVS-6(V)3 systems. The contract will also include anticipated maximum potential quantities of: 3,750 AN/AVS-6(V )1A,10,000 AN-AVS-6(V)3 systems, 25,000 MX-10160A/UV and 55,000 MX-10160C/UV I2 tubes and associated spare parts for each referenced system.
