Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for non-commercial items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The current contract requirement is for the cut-down and re-manufacture of flexible body armor assemblies, per the technical descriptions in the Technical Drawings available from the Contracting Officer, Mr. Lee Weaver, 256-876-9375. The re-manufacturing process consists of the following steps: removal of current Ripstop cover; cutting down of ballistic armor to new size; removing old label and sewing onto new Ripstop; sewing new label per SOW onto new Ripstop; sewing newly sized armor into new Ripstop co ver; bagging, tagging, packing. The government will provide government furnished property (800 ballistic inserts) to the winning bidder to perform the current requirement. Bidders desiring to submit a bid for the current requirement shall provide a bid c onsisting of a unit price and total contract price for the work to be performed; the bidder shall also submit a bid sample of the re-manufactured ballistic insert assembly as part of their bid. The lowest responsive bid will then be evaluated pass/fail for conformance to the technical drawing package as well as workmanship. The current requirement is for delivery of re-manufactured ballistic insert assemblies according to the following delivery schedule: 400 units by 01 December 2007, and 400 units by 8 J an 2008. Contract award will be made to the lowest responsive bid which also includes a satisfactory bid sample of the remanufactured ballistic insert assembly. Contractors wishing to submit a bid should request a complete Statement of Work, Technical Dr awing Package, and GFP ballistic insert from the contracting officer listed above. Contractors who request GFP ballistic inserts as part of this bid proposal process are required to return the GFP inserts to the Contracting Officer if they later decide no t to bid. Bidders who fail to return the GFP inserts shall pay the government a replacement cost of $800.00 via credit card.
