Description
NEED: This action is for a product improvement development and qualification study of a new lot acceptance test that would reduce the number of parts needed to run tests on the M18 and M83 Grenade fuzes. This new test would delete the slug, cup and disc test. This requirement will consist of two sole source awards, one to Combined Systems Inc (CSI) and one to Martin Electronics Inc. (MEI). The preceding companies are the current producers of the M201A1 Fuze and are producing a proprietary Hand Gren ade Fuze. The fuze requested by this SOW is the M201A1 except that the igniter fill will be adjusted in 5 varying amounts so that the output can be studied and the correct fill amount selected for future fuze production. The only contractors that can exe cute this program is CSI or MEI since both have the manufacturing equipment, experience and components currently in place which can be used to manufacture these modified fuzes and will offer the best value to the government for this small program. FOB Des tination: Picatinny Arsenal. U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC) intends to award two Firm Fixed Priced, small purchase contracts on or about 21 September 2007. Two quotes will be asked for from both MEI and CSI, one for a maximum quantity of 3,500 each a nd one for a minimum quantity of 1,750 each. Required delivery schedule is 45 days after receipt of award. All contractors who provide goods/services to the Department of Defense (DoD) must be registered in the Central Contractors Register (CCR). If yo u are not registered in the CCR, you cannot be awarded a DoD contract. You may register via the internet at http://www.ccr.gov.
