- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Materials Division, AIR 4.3.4 at Patuxent River, MD plans to award a sole source Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) order in accordance with FAR 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) to METALAST, International, LLC for the Metalast anodizing process to provide for prototying of technology on a component scale to bridge the gap from laboratory testing to full-scall testing on fleet assets. NAVAIR needs the same METALAST proprietary technology already in use at NADEP JAX to allow for a direct hand-off of the transitioning processes. Accordingly, METALAST International, LLC is the only firm with the unique knowledge, experience, technical expertise, and understanding of the METALAST anodizing process. Award to any one other than METALAST International, LLC. would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Navy's requirements.
