- This requirement is for the installation of lifting lugs on (4) test weights (52,300, 52,280 and 81270 lbs). It shall include machine labor, weld, paint and NDT. Material shall include: A36 plate for lugs, bolts to ASTM A490 standards. Re-stencil the weight of each slab, in visible location, using welding rod when weight is recertified. As required by NAVFAC MIDLANT Weight Test and Certification Division. A Firm Price Contract is anticipated using the Simplified Acquisition procedure. The FSC code is 3940 and the NAICS code is 332722. The requiring activity is the Naval Facilities Mid-Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia. This office will no longer issue a hard copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ); therefore, a copy can be obtained from website http://www.neco.navy.mil or email emanuel.clemons@navy.mil. The RFQ will be posted on 8/7/07 with closing date of 8/17/2007. By submitting an offer, the vendor is self-certifying that neither the requestor nor the principal corpor ate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to do so may represent grounds for refusing to accept the offer. By submission of an offer, the contractor acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee must be registered in the CCR database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from this RFQ, except for awards to foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make a contractor ineligible for award. Contractors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 1-888-227-2423, or via the Internet at https://www.bpn.gov. This requirement is unrestricted.
