Description
The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) is a set of laws enacted by the US Congress, designed to detect and deter money laundering. (The BSA can be found in Title 31, US Code, Sections 5311 and following.) Money laundering is defined as concealing or disguising the source of illicit proceeds, such as funds originating from the sale of illegal drugs and other illegal activities. BSA mandates that all businesses that sell monetary/financial instruments, such as money orders, wire transfers, or stored value cards, must comply with all reporting requirements (compliance monitoring) and have an effective anti-money laundering program (suspicious detection and reporting) in place. As the United States Postal Service (USPS) sells money orders, USPS is required to, and is, complying with the BSA. The law mandates that entities regulated by the Bank Secrecy Act must implement internal controls to ensure that all reporting requirements of the law are complied with. The internal controls must provide the regulated entity a means to ensure that all reporting requirements are met in a timely manner. USPS has implemented a system of automated controls which are collectively called the BSA Application. USPS has the need for IT professionals with WebFOCUS experience to maintain, enhance and implement new development to the BSA application. Two (2) Developer/Programmers and one (1) Senior Developer are needed to work in our St. Louis, MO. development center. The term of the contract will be one year, with a possible 4 one-year option periods.
