- ANNOUNCEMENT OF DECISION TO CONTRACT WITH NAT SEATTLE d/b/a PENTAR AVIONICS, ON A SINGLE SOURCE BASIS, FOR THE ACQUISITION OF AUDIO SELECTOR PANELS & AUDIO CONTROL AMPLIFIERS FOR THE FAA'S BEECH -300 FLIGHT INSPECTION AIRCRAFT. This public announcement is being issued in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) paragraph 3.2.2.4 - Single Source Selection Procurement Process, Subpart 3.2.2.4.1.2. The purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the FAA's intent to contract, in an amount greater than $100,000, via single source contract procedures. The FAA Aviation System Standards, Flight Inspection Programs Divisions has a requirement for the following equipment in the quantities as listed: CLIN DESCRIPTION QTY 1 804-011 Audio Selector Panel 18 2 805-011 Audio Selector Panel 18 3 803-008 Audio Selector Panel 36 4 700-003 Audio Control Amplifier 72 All component parts must be type certificated in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations procedures set forth under Certification Parts 23, 25, 27 and 29. The specific parts as identified are the only components to meet the described certification. Each component must be traceable to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The requirement is being processed using single source limitations as provided for under the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Sections 3.2.2.4. Due to the proprietary nature of the equipment involved, there is no alternative source. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided in response to this announcement, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses and/or questions must be provided in writing and received no later than August 10, 2007, 3:30 p.m. Central Standard (CST). Any questions must be in writing to Michele D. This announcement shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA. No entitlement to payment or direct or indirect costs or charges by the FAA shall arise as a result of submission of responses to this announcement, and the FAA's use of such information. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: DOT, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (SADBU), has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
