- Description
- Refer to the original Federal Business Opportunities announcement for this effort, which was published on March 20, 2007. Phase I of the TRE was completed in May 2007 and organizations which were invited to participate in Phases II & III of the TRE w ere notified by letter. This announcement is issued to provide additional information concerning the remaining Phases of the TRE. This announcement is not seeking additional participants for the upcoming phases, and any responses received as a result of th is notice will not be considered. As communicated in the March 20, 2007 announcement, Phase II evaluates identifier technologies for use with the Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS). The tests are designed to provide data for the assessment of identifier technologies which may offer performance superior to that of the current system identifier. The U.S. Army is under no obligation to select any of the participating technologies. TRE 07-1 is a separate and distinct effort which has no connection to any of the JBPDS programs ongoing contract actions. Phases II & III will conduct laboratory evaluations of the proposed technologies, and are scheduled to occur at Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), UT beginning on or about 1 October 2007, for up to four wee ks in duration. All contractors selected in Phase I are encouraged to participate in the subsequent phases. Phase III will evaluate the technologies capability for automated identification of inactivated antigens in Formulated Tap Water. This testing will be scored separately from the Phase II portion of the TRE and will commence after Phase II testing has completed. Phase II participants should also be aware that at the current time the Government has no other venue, other than the TRE, through which upgr ade identifier technology will be evaluated for future block upgrade to the JBPDS. All questions concerning the TRE should be submitted to the US Army Technology Readiness Evaluation Team, monica.kelley1@us.army.mil. Format is plain text.
