Description
NOTICE: Only local sources will be considered under this solicitation. Local sources are sources (e.g., corporations or partnerships) that are physically located in Japan and authorized (i.e., licensed and registered) to perform in Japan, the type of work specified in this solicitation. Specifically, a prospective offeror must be duly authorized to operate and conduct business in Japan and must fully comply with all laws, decrees, labor standards, and regulations of Japan during the performance of the resulting contracts. In addition, prior to award of the contracts, offerors must be registered with the Government of Japan to do work in Japan and possess necessary licenses and permits to perform work required under this solicitation. PROJECT IN FORMATION: Professional services required for and related to the testing of Backflow Prevention (BFP) devices for the US Army Garrison Japan (USAG-J), Okinawa installations. The contractor shall provide all the necessary labor; materials, transportation , and equipment to perform maintenance testing on 150 BFP devices, which includes 29  reduced pressure principle assembly (RPPA) units and 21  double check valve assembly (DCVA), located on Torii Station, Naha Port, Kuwae Tank Farm 1 & 2, Chimuwan Tank F arm 1,2 & 3, and White Beach. The solicitation will be issued on or about 9 August 2007 and quotes must be submitted by 22 August 2007 (1500 hours  Japan Standard Time) to Procurement Branch, Contracting Division, Attn: Takako Hirukawa.
