- Description
- NASA/SSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the project entitled: Fire Alarm Phase 6 B-4400, to be performed at the John C. Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. This synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. The work to be performed under this project consists of, but is not limited to, the installation of a new addressable voice fire alarm system and a new fire control panel designed to work with line type heat detectors and the required line type heat detector circuits. The new fire alarm panels will be installed in the non-hazardous office area of Building 4400 at Stennis Space Center. The order of the magnitude for this procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000, and the effort shall be completed within one calendar year after receipt of notice to proceed. It is anticipated that this action will be issued as a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 238210 and $13.0 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about August 27, 2007, with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about September 26, 2007. The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the RFP. An organized site visit shall be scheduled and identified in the RFP as well. Offerors are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. Specifications and Drawings will only be made available on CDROM. Requests for copies shall be made via e-mail to the Bid Distribution Office at emily.s.polk@nasa.gov, or you may fax your request to (228) 688-1141. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation (RFP) and any documents related to this procurement (with the exception of the Specifications and Drawings) will only be issued electronically and will be available over the Internet. These documents may be accessed and downloaded at the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) Business Opportunities website at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=64. *** Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer via e-mail to rebecca.a.mckenzie@nasa.gov. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
