Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition, on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to Autism Speaks, is a network of treatment and clinical care centers dedicated to improving medical care for children and adolescents with autism. The ATN arose from the recognition that no organized group was devoted to defining a high standard of medical care for patients with autism. The ATN is planning and hosting an internal Network Development Meeting in November 2007 in order to meet its objectives of collaboration, establishing clinical consensus for care and sharing best practices. The Autism Treatment Network began as a collaboration of 5 sites, and will be expanding to 12 sites. This meeting will facilitate the expansion of the care network by providing a venue for new and returning sites to develop plans for activity for the larger network. This meeting will include formal presentations and collaborative workgroups. Specifically, veteran sites will have an opportunity to share their findings to date and report on the lessons learned in the initial development of the program. The sites of the expanded network will have the chance to develop concrete network-wide goals and objectives. Initial planning for the key consensus statements and methods to getting to consensus will be established. Moreover, key elements for the database/registry element can be reviewed and finalized. The period of performance: November 2007.The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 611430 and the Size Standard. An award to any other source would affect the NIH prior and current research. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 13 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
