- This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. The Veterans Administration is seeking sources for a potential contractor to provide surgical precision titanium instruments for vascular procedures. The instruments must have the highest concentration of titanium used in the industry. They provide durability, flexibility and have a standing record of reliability. The instrument should not rust, corrode or become magnetized. Single mold construction eliminates the presence of any welds at any part of the instruments, eliminating the opportunity of weld failure. The titanium composition is 60% titanium, 20% aluminum and 20% vanadium. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. All information submitted in response to this announcement must be received by 8/17/2007, 3PM EST. This information can be faxed or mailed to Carol AhNee, Contracting Officer at 857-364-6521. Responses will be evaluated however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
