Description
This proposed procurement is for the purchase of forty (40) 3-cubic yard and ten (10) 4-cubic yard bear proof trash containers delivered F.O.B. destination Glacier National Park, Montana. Contractor will have 90 calendar days after receipt of notice of award to deliver to destination. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only soliciation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. All responsible small business sources may submit an offer offer which, if received timely, will be considered. Q1435070199 is issued as a request for quotations and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-17. The NAICS code is 332439. Offers shall be addressed to the Contracting Officer, Administration Building #295, National Park Service, Glacier National Park, West Glacier, MT 59936, and must be received by the close of business (4:30 p.m. local time) August 24, 2007. Provide DUNS number with quotation. BID SCHEDULE: 1. 3-CUBIC YARD REAR LOAD CONTAINER WITH BEAR RESISTANT LID - QUANTITY: 40 EACH 2. 4-CUBIC YARD REAR LOAD CONTAINER WITH BEAR RESISTANT LID - QUANTITY: 10 EACH SPECIFICATION FOR REAR LOAD STYLE TRASH CONTAINER: Capacity: 3 and 4 Cubic Yard (CY) in quantities noted on the bid schedule. 3 CY Container Inside Dimensions: 62" wide, top 74" long, bottom 48" long, back 39" high 4 CY Container Inside Dimensions: 62" wide, top 93.5" long, bottom 70.5" long, back 39" high Tipping System: Container shall be rear loading type compatible with a 32 cubic yard New Way, King Cobra truck. Construction of Sides, Bottom, Front and Back: 14 gauge hot rolled steel. Vertical seams to be 1/8" fillet welds, complete inside and stitch welded outside. Top Perimeter: Bracing for the front and sidewalls at the top perimeter shall be 1-1/2" x 3" 12 gauge interlocking formed banding. Banding shall be mounted on the outside of container walls to make for a clear dump opening. Front Wall Bumper Pads: Front corners of the container where the truck makes contact shall be protected by bumper pads. Pads shall be 4" x 4" 10 gauge formed angle x 16" length welded to front and sides of container. Lids: Bear resistant type: 14 gauge metal with 3 charge hatches (paddle latch "one handed" opening). Lids shall be 3-hatch: 1 Center/Front; 2 on Sides/Back. Container shall be bear-resistant as evidenced by successful certification by the Grizzly Bear Committee Testing Program or equivalent-. (www.lwwf.org) Trunion Bar: 1/4" diameter cold rolled steel bar. Lid Hinges: ?" x 1-1/2" flat stock with 9/16" diameter holes for ?" bolts with locking nuts. Drain Plugs: A 1-1/2" NPT welded drain plug coupling in the right rear sidewall at floor level for drainage with a plastic drain plug installed. Wheels/Skid Plates: 12 gauge steel Bottom Support: Four standard 6 x 2 rubber swivel casters with 10 gauge wraparound casterplates in front, and 10 gauge wraparound outrigger/casterplate combination in rear. The casterplates shall be solid welded to the container. Cleaning: Container shall be scraped clean after fabrication to remove any rust, scale or splatter. Paint/Exterior: The outside shall be primed with an alkyd primer applied by airless spray 1 to 3 mils. The outside topcoat (including the exterior bottom), shall be coated to a minimum 3 mils each coat, 2 coats total, with alkyd automotive enamel paint. Color shall be brown. Furnish color samples to Contracting Officer for selection. Paint/Interior: Fully coated with an alkyd primer applied by airless spray 1 to 3 mils. Color shall be brown as approved by Glacier National Park. Welding: All welds shall comply with American Welding Society (AWS) standards and finished product construct to meet American National Standard Institute (A.N.S.I) specifications.
