- The Navy Clothing & Textile Research Facility is seeking sources of an improved precured durable press (wrinkle resistant) washable white woven fabric for potential use in Dress and Formal Dress White Shirts for the US Navy. Fabric performance characteristics should be equal to or better than the current fabric which is specified in Navy Certification Program Bulletins 161 and 161A (see attachment for specifics). Fiber content of the improved fabric is not limited to the fabric specified in Bulletins 161 and 161A. The fabric should be breathable and demonstrate improved wrinkle resistance (both initially and after laundering); improved discoloration resistance properties; and improved hand; and provide additional capabilities such as state of the art soil release and comfort feature of moisture management. The fabric must match the visual appearance of the currently specified dress shirt fabric (swatch available upon request). This Sources Sought Notice is subject to the Berry Amendment, 10 USC 2533a. Manufacturers who believe they have product(s) capable of meeting the above requirements are requested to contact Patrick Gouveia at (508) 233-4119, x114 or via Email at pgouveia@nctrf.natick.army.mil by 30 October 2007 to schedule an appointment at NCTRF to present product information such as sample yardage, product literature, company brochures, places of manufacture and other relevant information. All of the aforementioned material may also be sent to Navy Clothing & Textile Research Facility, Attn: P. Gouveia, Warehouse 20-86, Kansas Street, Natick, MA 01760, or submitted via email to pgouveia@nctrf.natick.army.mil, no later than 30 October 2007. Submitted information and materials will not be returned. This Sources Sought Notice is not a request for proposal or quotation. No solicitation document exists. This Sources Sought Notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure these items, nor does the US Navy intend to award on the basis of the Sources Sought Notice or otherwise pay for the information requested. No entitlement payment of direct or indirect cost or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submissions of responses to this request for information and Government use of such information.
