- Description
- The Pharmaceutical Resources Branch of the Developmental Therapeutics Program, Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis, National Cancer Institute (NCI) is seeking contractors to develop acceptable dosage forms for compounds to be subsequently evaluated in cancer patients. NCI will select and provide the compounds to be studied. In addition to solubility studies, the projects may require analytical work, the development of a stability-indicating assay to monitor the integrity of the parent compound during the formulation studies. These investigations will be directed toward a pharmaceutical dosage form that will meet certain solubility and stability targets determined by the Government. The Principal Investigator on this project should possess a Ph. D. in Pharmaceutics or Medicinal Chemistry and should also have at least three years experience in the development of injectable formulations. It is anticipated that three (3) cost-reimbursement term type contracts will be awarded for five (5) years plus (2) one-year options. The proposed contract project represents a re-competition of Contracts NO1-CM-27142 (University of Arizona), NO1-CM-27004 (University of Kansas), and NO1-CM-27134 (University of Kentucky). Request for Proposal (RFP) N02-CM-67035-21 will be available on or about February 08, 2007 and receipt of proposals will be due on or about 2:00 p.m. eastern prevailing time on March 14, 2007. The RFP will only be available electronically and must be accessed through the National Cancer Institutes, Office of Acquisition external website at URL: http://rcb.nci.nih.gov Once there, click on Current Requests for Proposals. All information required for submission of a proposal will be contained in the electronic RFP package. POTENTIAL OFFERORS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNLOADING THEIR OWN COPY OF THE RFP AND ANY AMENDMENTS. It is the offerors responsibility to monitor the above Website for the release of this RFP and amendments, if any. This solicitation is anticipated to result in three (3) awards to offerors capable of performing all aspects of the work described in the SOW. These contracts shall be cost-reimbursement, completion type and will be awarded for a period of five (5) years with option for yearly extension up to two (2) additional years. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Government. This advertisement does not commit the Government to award any contracts.
