Description
The United States Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Business Services is contemplating negotiating a small business sole source contract with Goodman???s Inc., 4860 Pan American Fwy NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87109-2220, under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), and pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The Office of Business Services anticipates that this effort will be available only from the original source and ???No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.??? This is predicated on a recent 100% small business set-aside competition where several other chairs were extensively considered and evaluated, and it was determined that only one chair met the Agency???s minimum ergonomic requirements. The Herman Miller Mirra chair, NSN/MFR PART #: MR123AAM AJ G1 BB G1 DB 3Q11, is the only chair that meets the Agency???s requirements as follows: 1) Seat suspension that is lightweight, breathable, and evenly distributes the user???s weight over the seat of the chair; 2) A chair back that provides flexible and continuous support while providing airflow; 3) A chair that provides continuous balance and that lets the body recline naturally; 4) Adjustable lumbar support, in addition to adjustable seat depth and adjustable arms. Goodman???s Inc. is a small business and is the only authorized distributor of Herman Miller products in the Albuquerque area, where the chairs are to be delivered. The applicable NAICS code for the proposed acquisition is 423210 with a size standard of 100 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Firms who want to challenge the sole-source must submit an interest letter than demonstrates the firm???s ability to provide an equivalent supply as described above. Interested parties must provide rationale as to why they should be considered. All interested firms must respond by August 16, 2007, 2:00 P.M. (MST), to Jodi Van Slyke, Contract Specialist, NNSA, Office of Business Services, PO Box 5400, Albuquerque, NM 87185; or by e-mail at jvanslyke@doeal.gov.
