- AMENDMENT #A04 - 8/10/2007 DESCRIPTION OF AMENDMENT: THE DATE OFFERS ARE DUE IS EXTENDED TO THURSDAY, AUGUST 16, 2007. The Postal Service plans to issue a Fixed Price Contract to expand the Greensboro Processing & Distribution Center located at 1120 Pleasant Ridge Road in Greensboro, North Carolina, for installation of a new Flats Sequencing System. The contractors must provide all material, labor, tools, plant, supplies, equipment, transportation, superintendence, temporary construction of every nature, and all other services and facilities necessary to construct an approximately 67,000 square foot pre-engineered metal building. The work consists of a single-story, high bay structure with an overall footprint of approximately 200 feet by 340 feet. A new storm water system will be installed and connected into the existing system. The floor will be a 6? concrete slab-on-grade construction. The roof will be a standing seam metal roof. HVAC will be roof mounted gas fired units on the addition and two computer room units. The electrical system will include tying into the existing switchboard in the adjoining central plant and adding fluorescent lighting, power outlets, extending the telephone, data and fire alarm systems. Two new restrooms are being installed in the addition with the sanitary tying remotely into the site sanitary system. The natural gas, compressed air, and sprinklers systems are being extended. All work is to be done in accordance with USPS approved plans and specifications. This facility is occupied and in use 24 hours per day, seven days per week. There will be no disruption of mail processing operations. The estimated cost of the project is between $6,500,000 and $8,000,000 with construction completion within 300 calendar days from notice to proceed. There will be no pre-proposal meeting for this project. This solicitation is limited to prequalified contractors as a result of Construction Qualification Statement 362575-07-A-0033 dated June 8, 2007, and previously prequalified contractors as a result of Construction Qualification Statement 362575-05-A-0409 dated June 30, 2005. If pre-qualified for both the Greensboro NC P&DC FSS Expansion and Raleigh NC P&DC FSS Expansion, contractors should submit separate offers for each project, and may submit a combined offer with a breakdown for each project. The Postal Service reserves the right to award separate contracts to two individual contractors, or to make an award to one contractor for both projects if the combined offer provides best value to the Postal Service. A total of three Management Plans could be required, one for each project and another for the combined offer.
