Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Seafood Inspection Laboratory (NSIL), located in Pascagoula, MS, intends to modify Purchase Order WC133F-05-SE-6858 for the rental of a triple wide medical trailer by adding two additional 12 month option periods which will extend the period of performance through December 31, 2011 with Resun Leasing Inc., Dulles VA based on the following reasons 1) The NSIL lab was demolished when hurricane Katrinia struck Pascagoula, MS in August of 2005. NSIL acquired this trailer through competitive bid and has been utilizing this triple wide medical unit as Laboratory space while a new building is being constructed; 2) The existing Purchase Order was awarded from a competitive bid, but only allowed for occupation through December 31, 2007 and now the extension of the existing rental agreement is essential while a new building is being constructed; 3) NSIL has made a significant investment in the remodeling and preparation of the triple wide medical unit so that it could be utilized as laboratory space. The current facility has been outfitted with all the necessary laboratory equipment and supplies and NSIL has been able to resume their mission. The cost to vacate this building, move it off the property, procure a new facility, move it onto the property, outfit it, and hookup all the utilities would be far more costly to the Government then extending the lease through the addition of option periods; 4) The extension of the current lease would also eliminate the disruption of employees and the programs they are working; 5) This extension of this lease on the triple wide medical unit is critical to NSIL operations in Pascagoula, MS. The Government plans to negotiate with Resun Leasing Inc. for the continued rental of the triple wide medical unit trailer currently in its possession and onsite in Pascagoula, MS. Inquiries regarding this requirement should be directed to Carey Marlow at (816) 274-6923 or submitted via email to carey.m.marlow@noaa.gov . The applicable NAICS code is 332311. DOC, CRAD requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). No award can be made to a company not registered in CCR.
