- Description
- The Idaho National Laboratory has developed a special filter to be mounted in the rear sight of an aiming system. This filter has similar focusing properties to refraction lenses, but with more than one focal length. In this application, a first and second focal length would be regulated to bring both the front sight and target into simultaneous focus. Use of this lens allows for better alignment and improved accuracy for the sighting system user. Current single lens sights cannot provide a clear view of both the front sight and target. Technology Highlights: ? Single lens ? Rear sight mounted ? Provides simultaneous clear focus on front sight and target The INL is soliciting a written indication of interest from industry manufacturing partners interested in a license agreement for the purpose of manufacturing and commercializing this technology. Interested manufacturers should respond by September 13, 2007. Interested parties should send a description of their company and their ability to manufacture and commercialize this technology to the contact listed below. Any questions or inquiries should be directed to the contact listed below.
