Description
The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a purchase order on a sole source non-competitive basis to Beckman Coulter, Inc., 4300 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA 92835-1091. Item 0001, Item number A28126, Genome Lab GeXP Analysis System, Item 0002, Item number A36465, GeXP Start Up Pac dual plate system, Item 0003, Item number 608120, DTCS Quick Start Up Kit. The GeXP chemistry is unique, and utilizes a chimeric and universal priming strategy to profile specific user defined genes of interest, eliminate PCR amplification bias, and allow the size analysis of gene specific amplicons in the multiplex. The GeXP enables scientists to run multiple (up to 29) control reference genes in a single multiplex panel, increasing validity of gene expression data. The GeXP electropherogram data allows scientists to observe the Gene specific PCR amplicon size of each gene in the multiplex as a confirmation of specificity in the multiplex assay. The GeXP has a low sample requirement of only 20 ng total RNA.The GeXP has a two 96 well microtiter plate capacity for additional load and leave operation. This system will allow the examination of tissue culture treated with various chemicals or microbial toxins for genetic expression. Thirty genes can be examined per reaction/well. This is the only unit known in the marketplace with these unique capabilities. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
