- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri intends to award on a sole source base under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, 2230 S. Glenstone Avenue, Springfield, Missouri 65804 for blood and blood components which meet the requirements of the Bureau of Biologic and American Red Cross Medical And Technical Directives twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Contractor shall provide blood and blood products, and identification of unknown blood antibodies on a stat basis, as well as, routine. Contractor shall have a reference lab to perform antibody screens locally. Estimated amount of blood products required as follows: Packed Red Cells 126 each, Fresh Frozen Plasma 34 ea, Platelet Pheresis 11 ea, and Cyroprecipitate 1 ea. The contract will be for a firm-fixed priced purchase order for the period 10/1/07 through 9/30/08. Any firm who believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by August 27, 2007, 2:00 p.m. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed and must show competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement to Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. All vendors are hereby notified if your response is not received by the date and time specified in this notice, it will not be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
