Description
This solicitation was previously synopsized under Solicitation Number W9127N-07-B-0014. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract for advertise the fabrication and placement of a dual spillway weir system at John Day Dam (JDA) on the Columbia River, Klickitat County, Washington. The system major com ponen ts consist of two steel spillway weirs each being approximately 53x7x6 feet and weighing approximately 85,000 pounds and one closure gate approximately 47x5x18 feet and weighing approximately 76,000 pounds. Also included are a steel tube and wide flange l ifting frame 25x13x18 feet and weighing 8,800 pounds, a square tubing truss weir lifting beam 47 feet long and weighing 10,000 pounds, and a square tubing truss closure gate lifting beam 24 feet long and weighing 2,000 pounds. System components are to be p ainted with a four coat epoxy polyamide paint system, MIL-DTL-24441. Several other small components shall be fabricated, galvanized, and installed on-site. The magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Invitation for Bid will be avail able on or about August 10, 2007 with a tentative bid opening on or about September 10, 2007 or 30 days after issue. The estimated contract completion date is 27 March 2008. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all new contracts w ith the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. For this project the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 3 years safety work with similar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken wit hin the last 3 years. The SSHO may have other duties for this work that include being the Contractor on-site Project Manager and/or the on-site CQC Manager or other responsible individual. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns .
