Description: Classification Code: 99 Miscellaneous, Product Code: 5680 Miscellaneous, NAICS Code: 212321 Constriction Sand and Gravel This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format found in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested, and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this request is BCQ072002 and the solicitation is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the current Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC 05-15) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). This is a small-business set-aside procurement under NAICS classification code: 212321, and PSC: 5680. The small business size standard is 500 employees. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Redding Field Office, Redding, CA requires the following: 1,100 Tons of 1 1/2" (37.5mm) Class 2 Aggregate Base in accordance with Section 26 of the State of California Department of Transportation's Standard Specifications. Width of spread shall be 15 feet. Depth of spread shall be 3 inches not compacted, Length of spread will be one (1) mile. Bureau of Land Management will be assisting in spreading and watering the gravel once delivered to project site. Bureau of Land Management highly suggests using "transfer type dump trucks". Vendors are highly recommended to visit the project location prior to submitting bid. PROJECT LOCATION: West of Keswick Reservoir approximately 3 miles south of Shasta Dam on Coram Road. Directions to project site (see attached map): Travel West of Redding City limit approximately half a mile on Highway 299 west to the Iron Mountain Road junction. Turn right on Iron Mountain Road and travel approximately 6 miles north to Matheson Road (not marked with a road sign). Turn right onto Matheson Road at the large Chappie-Shasta OHV Area sign. Travel approximately half a mile down Matheson Road to the rail road grade along Keswick Reservoir. Go north on the rail road grade until you reach the route #3 turn-off, marked with a white fiberglass sign post turn onto route #3 and travel approximately 2 miles along the roughly graved dirt road. Project site begins after you've passed the second yellow gate on route #3. The vendor shall furnish all material, transportation as noted in this Synopsis/Solicitation. The timeframe for receiving the gravel estimated delivery date starting in September 2007 and will be completed on or before December 30, 2007, depending on the weather. The vendor is responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with the items description as noted above and to assure that all requirements and regulations pertaining to this job/product are adhered to. If permints are required vendor shall work with assigned project inspector from the Bureau of Land Management. You must be current with your registration with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) website at http://www.ccr.gov and ORCA at http://www.orca.bpn.gov/. This RFQ is a Commercial Item Purchase per the Simplified Acquisition Process (SAP).
