- Description
- THE U.S. Department of Commerce/National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration/National Environmental Satellite Data Information Services, intends to negotiate with American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) on a sole source basis,(under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 ? (1) only one responsible source). The Contractor is to conduct a study and provide NOAA a definitive assessment of future commercial remote sensing market growth and technology needs. This forecast will support the U.S. policy development towards space?based remote sensing in Asia and North America. It is believed that only this entity can satisfy the agency requirement to provide support for this function. The study is scheduled to be conducted from September 2007, through August 2008. This sole source announcement is being prepared in accordance with the format in subpart per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100K), The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 813920. Interested persons may identify their interest however they must demonstrate their ability to perform the requirement in order to be considered. This is not a request for Competitive proposals. Nor is competitive RFQ is planned. A determination not to open the requirement for competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the Government?s discretion. Affirmative responses must be received within 10 days after publication of this notice. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this notice.
