- Description
- The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to enter into a sole source contract with Purdue University to improve, maintain, and assess the PARCS (Purdue Advanced Reactor Core) code package and address areas where the code has tended to produce less accurate results to improve its application to steady-state and transient analysis of operating light water reactor (LWR) cores. Purdue University is uniquely qualified to provide the services based on their knowledge and experience of the theory and algorithms utilized in PARCS. The NRC office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES) has been developing the PARCS code sine 1998 under an exclusive licensing agreement from the Purdue research Foundation. No comparable commercial code (e.g., Studsvik Scanpower SIMULATE code) will couple to the NRC TRACE code. The period of performance will be one (1) year. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Requests for copies of this solicitation will not be honored unless the respondent provides evidence showing their capability to perform the required services. Inquiries regarding this announcement may be made to Neha S. Dhir, Sr. Contract Specialist by phone at (301) 415-6594 or via e-mail at nsd@nrc.gov. See Numbered Note 22.
