Description

The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a purchase order on a sole source non-competitive basis to Illinois Instruments Inc., 2401 Hiller Ridge Rd., McHenry, IL, 60050-3051. Item 0001, Model 7002, Water Vapor Permeation Analyzer Master Control Unit. Qty., 1. Item 0002, Shipping, Qty. 1. The Illinois Instrument device has a Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) range of up to 1,000 g/m2/ per day, higher than any other known on the market, which only go to 500 g/m2/ per day. This capability is essential to the study for high barrier packaging applications. Also, the Illinois Instrument model is the only known instrument that is capable of temperature drops down to 5 degrees Celsius, which is very critical for many food package and film applications. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
