A Solicitation for the following requirement will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about 8/31/07. REQUIREMENT: The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking a fixed-price construction contract to furnish all material, equipment, and labor necessary to repair and repaint the New Barn, Gardeners Shed, Chicken Coop/Tool Shed, and Carriage Shed located on the grounds of Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, Oyster Bay, NY. Note that all structures included in this project are historic and must be treated in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's preservation standards (NPS-28). The NAICS code for this requirement is 238160. The estimated price range for this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. STATEMENT OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS - The work will consist of: New Barn a) Stripping of exterior paint to expose wood sheathing and trim; b) Dutchman and epoxy to exterior novelty siding and trim; c) Complete prime and finish painting of exterior. Gardeners Shed a) Re-roofing (wood shingle) of the Gardeners Shed; b) Stripping of exterior paint to expose wood sheathing and trim; c) Dutchman and epoxy repairs to exterior sheathing boards and battens; d) Replacement of deteriorated trim elements; e) Install new p.t. skirt boards; f) Re-glazing and painting of 2 fixed window sash; g) Complete prime and finish painting of exterior. Chicken Coop/Tool Shed a) Stripping of exterior paint to expose wood siding and trim; b) Dutchman and epoxy repairs to exterior novelty siding and trim; c) Removal and rehabilitation of 4 double hung window units; d) Installation of new wood plank entry door and associated hardware; e) Prime and finish painting of exterior. Carriage Shed a) Remove, repair and rehabilitate double barn doors; b) Stripping of exterior paint to expose wood siding and trim; c) Dutchman and epoxy repairs to exterior novelty siding and trim; d) Rehabilitation of 4 double hung window units; e) Prime and finish painting of exterior. It shall be incumbent upon the Contractor to furnish labor who can execute first-class workmanship in the materials and methods specified, and who will take any necessary precautions to protect site, structures, and objects of this historic landscape not scheduled to receive work. COMPETITION: This procurement is open to small and large businesses and is subject to Public Law 100-656. This proposed solicitation is subject to the provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 14, Sealed Bids. A site visit will be scheduled for interested parties with the time and date to be announced with the solicitation. Responses from Bidders will be accepted at the address listed in the solicitation in hard copy with the manual signature of the authorized company official. PAPER COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONEREQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THE SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The government reserves the right to cancel the solicitation.
