Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Digestive, Diabetes & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to procure Laser Refurbishment services on a Coherent Enterprise 653 UV Laser and power supply and one new Omnichrome 643-RYB-A01 Ion Laser and power supply from Microcosm, 9140 Guilford Road, Suite O, Columbia, MD 21046. The Institute intends to procure this system by other than full and open competition under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302. The service involves removing/uninstalling the broken laser, packing and shipping the unit before reinstalling the refurbished laser once it is repaired. Microcosm maintains the service contract on our LSM 410 Confocal Systems to which the laser system is attached. As the service provider for the LSM 410, Microcosm is the only qualified source to provide the installation fro the refurbished and new Omnichrome laser and power supply to ensure the continued operation of the LSM 410. This is not a solicitation for competitive proposals, however, all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. The determination to compete or not compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-07-377 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Boulevard, Two Democracy Plaza, Room 765C, Bethesda, MD 20817 ATTN: Tina Robinson or via email:robinsti@mail.nih.gov or fax 301-480-4226. FAX quotations must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative. All requests for quotation must include a valid email address. Collect calls will not be accepted. PLEASE NOTE: In order to receive an award, contractor must be registered and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) www.ccr.gov
