- This amendment is in reference to the Combined Solicitation Reference-Number-F4ATA27171A001-OAS dated 10 August 2007. The purpose of this amendment is to add additional information to the requirements of the Blast Boost System, to incorporate a FAR clause and to extend the closing date of the previously posted combined solicitation. The following changes will be incorporated: 1) Emergency lighting to be a light with spotlights. 2) Two (2) sets of safety equipment; safety helmet to include cool air tube; cool air vortex vest. 3) Air compressor capable of generating Grade D breathable air with a CO2 monitor. 4) 100hp compressor with 1200 gallon receiver tank. 5) Panic switch included on blast nozzle to trigger emergency alarm. Emergency alarm to consist of strobe lighting and klaxon horn. 5) Interior lighting to be sealed and minimum 50 candle power with additional 25 candle power on sides of room. 6) Grading must support up to 15K forklift with additional maximum 10K in weight. 7) Nylon couplings and rubber jacketed nozzles on hoses. 8) Minimum 70 linear feet of movement through blast room. 9) Contractor responsible for disposal of debris from base. Minimum Scope of Work: The blast booth will be installed in the middle bay an existing five-bay covered storage building (1144). After completion, a separate project will be initiated by CEMIRT to enclose the blast booth to ensure environmental integrity and avoid water infiltration. Requirements: 1) Layout floor plan for new equipment installation. The layout must be approved by CEMIRT prior to any work being performed. 2) Saw cut concrete and remove for below grade media recovery system and blast room installation. 3) Remove all demolition/construction debris from job site; contractor responsible for disposal of all material. 4) Pour concrete floor using appropriate rebar. Insert chamfer as required for waterproofing walls to floor joints. 5) Form walls and install waterproofing material in chamfer. 6) Rake out forms from walls and install equipment as required in pit. 7) Install floor grating. The following clause will be incorporated: FAR 52.222-6, Davis-Bacon Act. The solicitation deadline will be extended from 4:00 PM CST, Monday, August 20, 2007 to 4:00 PM CST, Thursday, August 23 2007. All quotes must be received at the 325th Contracting Squadron, LGCCA no later than 4:00 PM CST, Thursday, August 23, 2007.
