- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. ONE (1) TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR DIAGNOSTIC PORTS FOR ARC-DRIVEN SHOCK TUBE. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to revise the RFQ specifications as follows: Port Materials: The window materials for the ports shall be 1) fused silica, for ultraviolet to infrared transmission and 2) magnesium fluoride (MgF2) for vacuum ultraviolet transmission. Lithium fluoride (LiF) shall not be used as a window material. All machining shall be performed using tools and methods compatible with ultra high vacuum service. In addition, Offerers are required to document their practices and experience with fabrication for high vacuum service with their responses. Rectangular window port: Two (2) rectangular window ports are required. One shall have a fused silica window, and the other shall have a MgF2 window. The MgF2 window secondary insert shall have a clear aperture 0.5” high. The length of the MgF2 window shall be the maximum possible with commercially available crystal boules, but must be at least 2.9” long. Deliverables for this study are amended as follows: All primary insert dimensions, fastener locations, and fabrication tolerances shall be communicated to the government two weeks after the contract is awarded. Two (2) complete rectangular window port assemblies. One shall have a fused silica window, and the other shall have a MgF2 window. Two (2) blank secondary inserts. Three (3) spare rectangular fused silica windows. Three (3) spare rectangular MgF2 windows. Twelve (12) complete circular window ports. Eleven (11) shall have fused silica windows. One (1) shall have a MgF2 window. Four (4) spare circular fused silica windows. Two (2) spare circular MgF2 windows. Eight (8) pressure transducer ports. Two (2) o-ring kits for the fused silica rectangular window port. Two (2) o-ring kits for the MgF2 rectangular window port. Twenty four (24) o-ring kits for the circular window ports. Sixteen (16) o-ring kits for the pressure transducer ports. Deliveries to NASA Ames Research Center is revised to reflect 90 days ARO. Deliveries shall be FOB Destination. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on August 16, 2007. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
