- THIS IS AN AMENDMENT TO THE PREVIOUS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) N0042107RFI0001 ISSUED ON 22 June 2007 (Original Posting information follows this section)---- Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) appreciates your response to the "Request for Information to identify interested sources capable of providing a Very High Frequency Band Frequency Modulation Transmitter". NAVAIR is now requesting more information in order to provide further clarification of the requirements. Since this design has not been executed in an unpressurized/uncontrolled environment, NAVAIR would appreciate specific comments on the requirements based on each paragraph heading of the solicitation. If a requirement is seen as unreasonable, unattainable or beyond the capability of the vendor, please indicate. If the vendor maintains environmental testing facilities or intends to rent/contract such facilities, please include these costs in your estimate. Submit responses in a tabular format indicating the size of business (small business designation) and per unit price for quantities of one (1), four (4) and fifteen (15) Modulators or Amplifiers. If the vendor has the capability to develop the complete transmitter, please submit separate Modulator and Amplifier pricing for each quantity listed above. This will provide NAVAIR the option of purchasing Modulators and Amplifiers from different vendors. NOTE: THE CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF INFORMATION IS EXTENDED FROM 23 AUGUST 2007 TO 7 SEPTEMBER 2007. ORIGINAL RFI POSTING: THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION ISSUANCE, RATHER A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI), from industry which will allow the Government to identify interested sources capable of providing a Very High Frequency (VHF) band Frequency Modulation (FM) transmitter to be installed onboard unmanned aircraft. The the overall subsystem level and individual module level details can be found as the following website: http://www.navair.navy.mil/doing_business/open_solicitations The information sought herein is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP), or as an obligation or commitment on the part of the Government to acquire any product or service. There shall be no basis for claims against the Government as a result of information submitted in response to the RFI. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI, or otherwise pay for any information submitted by respondents to this request. Interested parties are requested to submit a capabilities statement of no more than (10) pages in length that demonstrates the respondent?s ability to meet the requirements as specified herein. Current estimated Government requirements would be 4 units for testing with an additional 15 units for production. In addition, respondents shall provide a maximum estimated dollar value per unit for the required transmitter. All proprietary or corporate data received shall be clearly identified and shall be protected from release to sources outside the Government. Responses shall be submitted electronically (Microsoft Word for Office 2000 compatible format or PDF) or other written document. Also, as part of your response, indicate your company?s business size and Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code. Failure to respond to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future associated RFP that may be issued.
