- DESCRIPTION: 1. The Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) is soliciting quotes for the purchase of 12 rugged lightweight computers. In addition we are soliciting a quote for an additional buy of up to 500 computers in the event funding becomes available in the near future. These computers must be available for delivery within 90 days of order. This system is part of the broader Battlefield Airmen program, currently addressing requirements for combat control/special tactics and TACP. 2. Respondents to this Request for Quotes (RFQ) should submit a fact sheet and a quote for a rugged lightweight computer with the following attributes: Weight of 4 pounds or less 80 GB Hard drive minimum (solid-state vs spinning preferred) Processor: 1 GHZ minimum RAM: A minimum of 1 GB Rubber Backlit Keyboard Outdoor enhanced display, SVGA-wide Ruggedness to pass MIL-STD 810F testing Touchscreen Win XP Professional; Optional GPS capability (state of the art receiver with serial NMEA output) 2 USB 2.0 ports minimum 3. The Government is also interested in the following areas: a. Is there a quantity discount available for computer purchase? What is the minimum order to receive that discount? b. Extended life battery, with cumulative weight of system remaining at or below 4 pounds. c. Option for upgrade to hard drive (100-120 GB). d. What is the warranty period? What does the warranty include? e. If spare battery and charger not included, please include in the quote. 4. Two (2) paper copies should be submitted as set forth in paragraph 5. Paper copies must be clearly labeled "Proprietary/Competition Sensitive Information" on the cover sheets and, in close proximity to this type of information, on each applicable page. Proprietary/Competition sensitive information will be protected from disclosure. E-mail copies of the paper submittal will be accepted. 5. Responses shall be received no later than 21 September 2007. Submissions should include a fact sheet, quote for initial 12 computers, and quote for optional computers as well as any other items listed in paragraph 3 above. Please include where your price breaks are for the optional computers.
