- Description
- The Overseas Private Investment Corporation intends to award a sole source purchase order to the incumbent firm, Economist Intelligence Unit, for multi-country information services. These services, via private website, include the renewal of "EIU Country Reports/Profiles," "EIU Viewswire," "EIU Industry Briefing," "EIU Risk Briefing," "Business Briefings," "Country Commerce Global," "Country Finance Global," "Country Forecasts," and "World Commodity Forecasts". The subscription would also include "World Data" service. "Economist.com" would be renewed for 100 users. "World Data" includes a statistical spreadsheet database of economic indicators in time series for 150 countries and 45 regions, covering 5-25 years of forecast data, as well as marketing indicators/forecasts, country credit risk rankings, business operations risk rankings, business environment rankings, and EcoWin's statistical data from national statistical agencies for over 80 countries, including trade and production data. Data tables can be manupulated by country, series, time period, and source. "Viewswire" consists of approximately 250 reports per day covering 201 countries and provides concise and original analysis on economic, financial, political and legal aspects of macroeconomic conditions, trends, risks and prospects required by OPIC. The Viewswire subscription allows users to set up customizable email alerts to track countries, industries, and topics of interest. "Industry Briefing" provides five-year forecasts and news analysis for eight key industries, along with relevant background information. Industry Briefing covers the 60 major economies that account for more than 95% of world output and trade. "Risk Briefing" provides analysis, forecasts, alerts and background data covering a wide range of risk factors in 60 major markets and is updated on a daily basis. "Business Briefings" provides weekly or fortnightly newsletters covering business and economic developments in Africa, Asia, China, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, and a monthly newsletter on India. "Country Reports" provide detailed quarterly reports with monthly updates that provide analysis of current political, policy and economic trends with a two-year outlook in nearly 146 countries (including emerging market countries). "Country Commerce" is a guide to the specific operating conditions, commercial laws and business regulations of more than 50 countries worldwide. "Country Finance" covers 42 countries and provides information on changing financial operating conditions, tax laws, investment opportunities, banking and other financial services in a country. "Country Forecasts" cover 67 countries and provide five-year forecasts, with explanation, for macroeconomic conditions, key industries, and political prospects, and rankings for the business environment. "World Commodity Forecasts" provides price forecasts up to two years ahead for 28 commodities and includes an annually updated profile. The geographic scope and the nature of the information are suited to OPIC's information needs, providing reliable and crucial information for a wide range of OPIC functions and operations. Licensing via private website shall provide access to all segments via an IP authentication protocol for general research and reference. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. This is a sole source requirement and if after evaluation the agency determines that there is no other comparable service, an award will be made without further notification. Responses must be received, in writing, within fifteen (6) calendar days of publication of this notice. Interested parties must submit sufficient descriptive literature with their response to prove their capability to satisfy the requirements. Requests must be in writing.
