- The Contractor shall provide all equipment, materials and labor needed to remove existing roofs and install new roofs on up to five buildings at three locations on the Mt. Hood National forests. More than one contract may be awarded Only one contract will be awarded for each site. Building Descriptions -Roofing of Ranger?s House 1057 at the Parkdale Work Center, Baseline Road, Parkdale, Oregon. Ranger?s House 1057 roof size is 2000 sq ft and is simple gable design with 16/12 pitch roof with two simple gable covered porches, two gable dormers on the front roof and one shed style dormer on the rear roof. Work includes removal of existing wooden shingles, replacing any damaged sheeting, installing new #1 grade wood shingles. All materials removed from roof shall be disposed of off of National Forest Lands by the Contractor.. -Roofing of Ranger?s House 1083 and Ranger?s Garage 1515 at the Zigzag Ranger Station, Zigzag, Oregon. Ranger?s House 1083 roof size is 2400 sq ft and is simple gable design with 8/12 pitch roof with two simple gable covered porches and one hip roof covered porch. There is also a shed roof over bathroom addition that has 4/12 pitch. Work includes removal of existing wooden shakes (one layer) , replacing any damaged sheeting, installing new 30 lb felt, installing new treated #1 heavy wood shakes and installing five fixed roof anchors (Skyhook Brand) along the ridges under the shake roofing. -Ranger?s Garage 1515 roof size is 700 sq ft and is simple gable design with 7/12 pitch roof. Work includes removal of existing composition singles (one layer), replace any damaged 1x6 sheathing, installing new 30 lb felt, installing new treated #1 heavy wood shakes and installing two fixed roof anchors (Skyhook Brand) along the ridges under the shake roofing. -Roofing of Residences 1109 and 1110 at rhe Bear Springs Work Center, 73558 Highway 216,Maupin,OR on the Mt Hood National Forest -Buildings 1109 & 1110 are identical in size and design and are located next to each other at the Bear Spring Work Center. Each roof size is 2500 sq ft and is simple gable design with 5/12 pitch. Work includes removal of existing wooden shingles, installing new felt, installing new preformed metal roof and replace any damaged 1x4 spaced sheathing. Four fixed roof anchors (Skyhook Brand) are to be installed along the ridges of each building under the metal roof. Project Location -Roofing of Residences 1109 and 1110 at the Bear Springs Work Center on the Mt Hood National Forest Projects are located at the Bear Springs Work Center on the Barlow Ranger District of the Mt Hood National Forest. Projects can be accessed by proceeding approx 14 miles east of Gov?t Camp on State Highway 26 to Highway 26/216 Junction. Then proceed northeast on Highway 216 approx 3 miles to the Bear Spring Work Center. -Roofing of Ranger?s House 1057 at the Parkdale Work Center, Parkdale, Oregon -Project is located on the Hood River Ranger District of the Mt Hood National Forest. -Project can be accessed by proceeding South of Hood River, Oregon via State Highway 35 approx 14 miles to the Community of Mt Hood, Oregon. Hood River Ranger District office is located ? mile beyond Community of Mt Hood on Hwy 35. Building 1057 is located in the Parkdale Work Center which is approx 3 miles from the Hood River RD office. -Roofing of Ranger?s House 1083 and Ranger?s Garage 1515 at the Zigzag Ranger Station, Zigzag, Oregon -Projects are located on the Zigzag Ranger District of the Mt Hood National Forest. -Projects can be accessed by proceeding East of Sandy, Oregon via State Highway 26 to Zigzag, Oregon. Both Buildings 1083 and 1515 are located directly across Highway 26 from the Zigzag Ranger Station Office. Street address for job site is 70303 E Hwy 26. This project is being advertised under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and as such it is open to large and small businesses. A payment bond will be required. The solicitation will be available on FEDBIZOPPS on 9/13/2007. Quotes are due no later than close of business on 9/20/2007. There will be a prebid tour of all three locations on September 17 at 9 a.m. beginning at the Zigzag District Ranger Office in Zigzag,Oregon.
