Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), Charleston, SC, has an established requirement to replace in-board engines (2) In a 40?8? aluminum hull/deck boat. The following information on the vessel is provided: Cummins model VT903M, serial number P37132921/S37134017, inboard diesel motor, 8 cylinders, 2600 rpm; Prestolit model 85A3064P, 24-28 volt, alternator; Delco Rem, 24-28 volt, starter; GNB No 2, Lead Acid, 12 volt, starting battery; 200 amp/hr capacity; freshwater/raw water cooled cooling system; pressure injection; electric start; Cummins, full flow, lube oil filter; Cummins, separator, fuel oil filter; Twin Disc model MG-509 reverse/reduction gear, 2:1 reduction ratio; RH rotation of engine facing coupling; L.O.A. 9? 8?, ?? diameter, taper at one end in to one foot, keyway ?? x ??, propeller shaft; four 26 diameter, 28 pitch propeller blades. Replacement engines must be of sufficient horsepower to allow a speed of 26 knots. Quotes must include all labor, supervision, equipment, parts and accessories required to install the new engines, remove existing engines, and disposal of removed equipment, packing materials, etc. Multiple quotes may be provided to allow for different manufacturer?s items, various model engines, etc. The vendor will be solely responsible for any dry docking, launching, etc. required to complete the work. Once installed, the vessel will be tested to ensure compliance with the requirements. This solicitation document incorporates provision and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 05-18. Only faxed or e-mailed quotes will be accepted (e-mail preferred). The quote must reference this solicitation number. Evaluations will be based on technical solutions and price. Technical solution is more important that price. This is a best-value acquisition. Evaluations will be conducted as per FAR 13.5.
