- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground, Directorate of Contracting is contemplating the procurement of Annual maintenance services for Smiths Detectors .THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOT IATE ON A SOLE SOURCE BASIS WITH: Smiths Detection-Edgewood, inc. , Edgewood , MD. 21040-1102, USA.. This is for the acquisition of : (Annual maintenance services for Smiths Detectors ). PURSUANT TO 10 U.S.C. 2304 ( C ) (1), ONLY ONE RESPONSIBLMNE SOURC E, AND FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION 6.302-1, SUPPLIES, SERVICES AND/OR EQUIPMENT ARE AVAILABLE FROM ONE RESPONSIBLE SOURCE AND NO OTHER TYPE OF SUPPLIES, SERVICES AND/OR EQUIPMENT WILL SATISFY AGENCY REQUIREMENTS. (The Special Programs Division owns and operates several APD 200s (6); LCD 3.2E (1); HazMat ID (1); and Sabre 4000 (1). Annual services to maintain and swipe test these items is needed in order support ongoing testing and training missions at Dugway Prov ing Ground. PERIOD AND LOCATION OF OPERATION: August 2007 to September 2008 as required CONUS, with an optional (4 years ) four additional years of services. ). (CLIN (1). APD2000 yearly maintenance; STOCK NUMBER 2429688 Smiths Detection Inc. CLIN (2). LCD 3.2 3 year partnership program (Smiths Detection Inc.) STOCK NUMBER 049-4912. CLIN (3). Sabre 4000 1 year extended warranty(Smiths Detection Inc.) STOCK NUMBER 049-4901. CLIN (4). Hazmat ID 1 year partnership (Smiths Detection Inc.) STOCK NUMBER 023-4021. (MORE DETAILED REQUIREMENTS: a. Swipe test each Smiths detector listed above sent for service in accordance with radiological monitoring requirements as applicable. b. Perform preventative maintenance . c. Fix and clean each detector as required by OE M. d. Equipment will be shipped from DPG to service contractor and returned w/in 3 months time. REQUIRING ACTIVITY DETERMINATION: No functions to be performed as part of this requirement are inherently governmental functions as defined by Federal Acquisit ion Regulation 7.503. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
