- The US Army Tank and Automotive Research, Development, and Engineering Center has issued a market investigation questionnaire to obtain detailed information on commercial and/or non-developmental equipment (with minor modifications if necessary) that will satisfy the US Armys requirements for semi-permanent dry and wet gap Line of Communication (LOC) bridging capability. The desired LOC bridging capability shall demonstrate the following summary performance characteristics: 1) A basic set capable o f spanning 50 meter dry and wet gaps. 2) Effective usable width of 4.2 meters (Threshold) and 4.5 meters (Objective). 3) Military Load Class (MLC) 70T/100W Normal (Threshold) and 80T/110W Normal (Objective). 4) If MLC 80T/110W Normal Crossing is not fea sible for your LOC bridging system, please tailor your responses to MLC 80T/110W Caution Crossing. 5) Utilize a maximum of 29 soldiers possessing Military Operational Skill (MOS) 21C. 6) Utilize the available Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Constru ction Equipment (CE) with the Multi-Role Bridging Company (MRBC) and not exceeding a construction time of 8 hours that includes ramp emplacement but excludes site preparation. Interoperability with existing US Army bridging systems is also desired.
